Expanding Possibilities

As social beings, we have several and various relationships throughout our lives.  We engage in relationships with parents, partners/spouses, siblings, children, adult children, extended family.  Beyond family we have relationship with friends, coworkers, neighbors, and general people in the community.

While several of these relationships can bring us great joy and support, other relationships can cause us to experiences feelings of sadness or anxiety.  At times cultural, political, religious, even generational differences can affect our relationships.  While we can often work on our relationships and emotional distress on our own, at other times we feel the benefit of consulting with a neutral outside party to help us resolve our distress.

Both/And Resources, PLLC is a collaborative group of mental health professionals who provide therapy services individuals, couples, and families.  We are all committed to providing a successful experience to those we serve. Our work is guided by these organizing principles:

  • We take a relational and systemic approach to our treatment approaches.

  • We help you find your own best solutions to life's challenges.

  • We embrace the diversity of culture, lifestyle, spirituality, age, and life experiences in our work.

  • We take a Both/And position in an either/or world.

What makes us different?

There are several modalities of individual therapy.  Like, a lot.  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Humanistic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy: The list goes on and on.

While there are respective strengths and weaknesses to these various modalities of therapy, most therapists are primarily trained from the perspective of individual therapy.  Conversely several of the providers at Both / And Resources, PLLC have some training in family and marital dynamics.  Through such, we can help you address issues arising from childhood dynamics, or ongoing conflicts with parents from an understanding of family systems.  Similarly, we can help address your relational stresses and conflicts from the added perspective of couples counseling.
